This bench might be a treat for the eyes, but it doesn’t seem like a treat for our backs. A bench’s first and most important purpose is to provide pedestrians with a comfortable rest stop, somewhere where they can sit and catch their breath after a long walk, have a pleasant chat with a friend, or just enjoy some shade.

This colorful bench might be stimulating for young children passing by, which is great, but it seems like it misses the point of a bench. Like many of the ideas on the list, it seems like it was a good idea in theory, but someone didn’t think this through. Oh well, you learn from your mistakes, I guess.
