Something blue
According to tradition, on their wedding day, brides must have something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. The old tradition originated in a Victorian English rhyme and is one of the favorite wedding traditions to this day. According to the rhyme, these items are supposed to provide the bride luck on her wedding day.
Usually, the items are small gifts from female friends and family members, perhaps jewelry that runs down the family. This woman got her something blue from an unexpected source: a mint her brother gave her right before she walked down the aisle. We don’t know whether he did this on purpose, as a mean prank, or whether he was completely innocent, but at least she’s able to laugh about it.
