That’s Not Part Of The Exchange Policy
Long before I started writing articles, I came across my fair share of Karens who came through my checkstand at a grocery store in an upper-class neighborhood (think famous basketball stars and soap opera actors rich). On multiple occasions, customers asked me to charge them for fruit priced by the pound, which they had already eaten.
This feels all too familiar. While I had to let my customers go with a warning not to eat food that hasn’t been paid for, this poor bakery worker had to explain that exchanges on half-eaten cupcakes weren’t part of their store policy. Coincidentally, I did work in a store that refunded half-eaten items.
