Amelia Earheart
Amelia Earheart was an American celebrated pilot and the first female pilot to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. Earheart’s death has remained a mystery ever since she and her co-pilot, Fred Noonan, vanished in 1937 when they took off on their around-the-world journey by flight, never to return. There are many conspiracies as to what happened to them, but the truth has never been uncovered.

Earheart was about to make history with this journey as the first woman to complete a circumnavigation of the world. This is said to be the last photo taken of Earheart just days before the big adventure, smiling as she happily prepared to take off. She was 40 years old.
