Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. is one of the most important figures in American history. An American Baptist minister and black rights activist, King Jr. was the spokesman and leader of the civil rights movement from 1955 until he was assassinated in 1968. Unfortunately, in a country as racist as the United States, King Jr. had been a target for assassinations for years.

The last photo of King Jr. was taken outside the Lorraine Motel where he and members of his entourage were staying. The next day, he was fatally shot outside on the second-floor motel balcony. It was around this time that King Jr. was receiving more death threats than ever before, and was aware that his life was at risk.
