How Converse challenges tax laws
Again, we’d like to emphasize that huge corporations are more than willing to exploit whatever loopholes there are in the system. In many cases, it means reducing how much they pay in taxes, which is a total jerk move. Seriously, how much do executives need to make before they’re satisfied?!
Converse, the shoe company, labels all of its sneakers as slippers since slippers only cost the company 3% in taxes, whereas sneakers are close to 40%. To get away with this, Converse adds a layer of felt to the bottom of the soles. So, technically, they are slippers. And technically, Converse is a total jerk company. Great “slippers” though.
