Cookies and Cream Comeback
Few parents would let their kids down a sleeve of Oreos for breakfast, so in 1997, Kraft Foods and Post Cereals made our cookies and cream breakfast dreams come true with Oreo O’s. The cereal took off, and sales soared until its discontinuation in 2007 when the brands ended their partnership, which prevented production since one owned the rights to Oreos and the other held the cereal recipe.

While the rest of us suffered from Oreo O’s withdrawals, production continued in South Korea due to Dongsuh Foods holding the proper licenses. Oreo O’s were revived in the US in 2017, but some people who imported the Korean version during the hiatus say they’re better than the US version. Others also debate whether the newer run of Oreo O’s taste the same despite the recipe never changing.
