Dreaming of The Old Dunkaroos
You knew it would be a good day when your mom slipped a pack of dunkaroos into your lunchbox. The snack pack held our tastebuds captive with its confetti sprinkled icing and thick vanilla wafers that were shaped like their kangaroo mascot. It was the mid-day sugar rush we needed to make it through recess and the rest of the school day.
It’s true; Dunkaroos hopped back into our pantries in 2020, but we still consider them discontinued because they’ve only reappeared in name and likeness. The cookies are now thin, flimsy medallions, and the frosting has lightened up on the diabetes factor by scrapping some of the sugar. Betty Crocker tried.
