Being Cheap Can Kill
Surprisingly, the person in the most serious relationship ends up being George. The notoriously lazy, cheap, and coward Geroge. Hopped up after a discussion with Jerry about marriage, George proposes to his girlfriend, Susan. He regrets his decision nearly instantly, and the show ends up killing-off her character, as a way of putting an end to George’s misery.
With George’s history of penny-pinching, he insists on the cheapest wedding invitations possible. Unfortunately, the ones he selected prove to be toxic. As unexpected as her passing was, George, Elaine, Jerry, and Kramer, don’t register a great deal of emotion upon hearing of Susan’s passing. George barely registers sadness and suggests they get a cup of coffee after leaving the hospital.
