The Susie
Elaine is another iconic character on the show. Beautifully portrayed by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Elaine is arguably just as crazy as Kramer. While there are moments where she seems to have a stronger moral compass than the rest of the gang, there are other moments where her craziness shines and those morals fly out the window.
It’s not until Elaine gets mistakenly called Susie by a coworker that we see her really lose her mind. Rather than correcting her coworker like any normal person would do, she let’s the mistake slide, which becomes a convoluted and hilarious issue for her at work. She creates an alter ego named Susie, who later gets in trouble, and in an effort to protect herself, Elaine concocts a story about Susie killing herself. The episode is hilarious for the viewer, if not highly confusing for those around her.
