Unrealistic Living
Jerry, Kramer, and Newman, who all have very different levels of income, are all living in the same building. Now, we learn at one point that Kramer is subletting his apartment (fun fact: he’s subletting it from Paul Buchman, from Mad About You!) and it’s rent-controlled, so we can make some room for understanding how he pays rent. Jerry, however, by all accounts is somewhat successful.

His apartment, however, didn’t reflect a high-income earner. Is this a reflection of Jerry’s humble taste or his income? We’re given glimpses that Jerry does well when he spends money on fancy jackets and buys his parents expensive gifts. However, when it comes to spending money on himself or his friends, his taste often seems rather simple.
