Another major loophole in the show is Seinfeld’s standup comedy act. As a character, he occasionally travels on the show to comedy gigs, but his routines are not the central plotline. The show maintains a good balance of incorporating each character’s individual lives and not overfocusing on just one thread.

One may take a view that Jerry simply isn’t a very successful comedian considering how much time he spends at home. There are also multiple instances where other characters on the show criticize Jerry’s act and suggest it isn’t very good. One woman even breaks up with him because she doesn’t like his act! On the other hand, it’s suggested that he does pretty well, financially. So, which one is it – is he a good comedian, or not?
