Contrasting backgrounds
Lucy had a very difficult upbringing. In fact, her mother had a had time putting together the money Lucy needed to go to acting school, but thankfully, that investment paid off in more ways than her family could’ve imagined. While Lucy had to struggle during her childhood, Desi had a completely different lifestyle.
Desi’s father was a high-ranking official for the Cuban government, and his mother’s family was a bunch of executives for Cuba’s largest exports. Sadly, all that changed in 1933, following the Cuban Revolution. Desi’s parents were forced to relocate to the US in search of a better life.
