Respect the Holiday in Goa, India
In India, the religious holiday of Christmas is taken more seriously and is much less commercialized than what you experience in America and Europe. If you and your family are more conservative in your religious views, then India’s northern city of Goa is the perfect place to celebrate Christmas while enjoying a warmer climate.
One-quarter of Goa’s residents are Christian. The churches in town are nicely decorated for the holiday and the most significant part of the culture is the Christmas Eve midnight mass, also known as Missa de Galo or “Rooster’s Mass”. Partake in a celebration at the bonfire beach parties and, similar to the rest of the world, stroll through their Christmas markets.
