The Special Tree of Tallinn
Located on the Baltic Sea, Tallinn is the capital and cultural center of Estonia. The Gothic 13th-century Town Hall is in the city’s main square. The Town Hall Square is special to the people of Estonia who celebrate Christmas because the first Christmas tree was lit in 1441 and the annual tradition has continued ever since.
As the cultural hub and the home of the special tree, the Town Hall Square in Tallinn is a wonderful place to be around Christmas time. Vendors stalls around the tree sell handcrafts as well as native Estonia beverages and snacks. You can also enjoy snow sculptures and a mini-zoo in the square.
