The Traditions of Taos
Heading to a Southwestern state in North America, like New Mexico, during the holidays pretty much guarantees a warm Christmas. Taos is a special and cultural place to visit for Christmas where you can immerse yourself into the town’s Native American and Hispanic cultural influences. Taos is also a city with many traditions.
The traditional festivities the family can experience in the days leading up to Christmas in Taos include the candlelight procession of Las Posadas at Ranchos de Tacos Plaza or farolitos, which are small lanterns, which line the Ledoux Street, the performance of the Spanish morality play, Los Pastores, and the tribal dances at bonfires.
