Today I’m sharing a little game we call Chore Card Bingo. This will keep your kids entertained and on a mission to be the first one to get BINGO with chores. I’m going to give you everything you need to make a game out of chores so that you can sit back and relax while the kids get things done!
How Do You Motivate Kids to Do Chores
Make Chores Consistent
The number one way to motivate kids to do chores is to make this a part of their daily schedule. Kids thrive on routine, so you’ll want to make chores a consistent part of the kids’ routine.
Set a Time Limit
Make chores consistent with a time limit set for each chore. This may help your kids get better at their chore list, especially when they’re struggling with motivation. If the kids have a visual that each chore takes ‘x” amount of time, it may motivate them to just get the chore done so they can move onto the fun stuff.
Provide a Reward
Whether it’s an allowance, such as money earned for each chore or our Chore Card BINGO game, providing a reward for chores will encourage your kids to do chores. Kids are highly motivated by money and rewards, use this to your advantage to motivate kids to do chores.
Make Chores Competitive
If you have more than one kid, you know that sibling rivalry is strong. Use my chore card BiNGO to encourage a little healthy competitiveness. Chore card BINGO will encourage your kids to compete and see who can get the most chores done and earn a BINGO reward.

What Can I Give My Kids for Completing Chores?
Since every family is different in what they feel and believe is acceptable to give kids for chores, the option of what you give your kids for completing chores is up to you. On the chore card bingo rewards card you’ll find the following reward ideas:
- No chore day
- Ice cream cone
- 1 hour with mom (or dad)
- Go to the park
- Empty reward
- Empty reward
What Rewards can I add to this list?
I like to reward my kids with hugs and boy do they just *love*that idea. {is there a sarcasm font?} My kids are teenagers, with the exception of the youngest being a ‘tween’, so they enjoy money, to be honest.
If your kids are younger or you’re like us and simply don’t want to pay kids to do the chores they should be doing as part of TEAM FAMILY, then here are some chore card bingo reward ideas:
Non-Monetary Chore Rewards
- An extra hour of electronic time
- Sleep anywhere at home that they want (like a blanket fort, or on the floor)
- An extra half an hour doing something they enjoy
- An hour alone with mom or dad doing something they love
- Their choice of a board game on family board game night
- An hour of free time
- One day full of ‘yeses’ to anything they want
The options of what you can give your kids for non-monetary chore rewards could be endless, it’s ultimately up to you to set the reward ideas and limits using the Chore Card Bingo Rewards sheet.
Now you’re all set to download chore card bingo and chore card bingo rewards to ensure that your kids get all geared up for their weekly chores. This is an excellent way to make chore time fun any time of the year, but most importantly during these days when your kids are stuck at home due to the virus and they’re getting antsy.
I hope that you’ll use this chore card bingo as a way to inspire some fun in the home because fun is what makes the family bond stronger!
