There are some strange laws in the United States of America around smoking cigarettes and other substances. Alcohol was banned for the early part of the 1900s but then made legal, at the same time marijuana was demonized and prohibited until recently. Whatever your stance may be on drugs and alcohol, some of their laws lack logic. 

Another thing that does not make any sense is the fact that they are completely fine with trying to send young men to war. You can not smoke a cigarette or buy liquor in the store, but you can shoot a gun and risk your life. We guess that’s just the way it is.
