#22: Comedy in Poor Taste
It’s important to discuss sensitive topics with a sense of reverence, which is not always achievable in a comedic setting. Three decades have passed since the show first aired, and some of the show’s jokes methods have not aged well. Looking back, it’s easy to spot instances that could’ve been handled better. Bullying and lying were central themes in the show, often with success as a reward.

Besides that, multiple episodes mock Native American culture, which wouldn’t have been received well these days with more awareness of inclusiveness and equality. With the pilot episode airing 1989, the television landscape has changed dramatically in the last three decades. While using your platform to bring light to important topics is admirable, doing it respectably is key; otherwise, you’re doing more harm than good.
