#26: Why Turn Down a Bite?
We’ve just seen how Jerry regularly finds something out of place with his dates, and this is another amusing example. He doesn’t seem to maintain long-term friendships with any of them, with the exception, of course, of Elaine. The show doesn’t delve too deeply into their history, but they connect on a romantic level on more than one occasion.
The show seems to rather enjoy not providing answers, always able to take small moments and blow them out of proportion. In one such episode, Jerry’s date declines to take a bite of apple pie he offers her. It’s a simple moment that becomes very odd and leaves everyone wondering, why? Why turn down a bite? We never get an answer to that. We must admit, we can’t blame Jerry for ending a relationship over something like this. We still want to know why she refused to try this apple pie.
