#42: The Journalist with the Wrong Impression
Seinfeld famously coined the term “Not that there’s anything wrong with that” in the fourth season. As we’ve discussed, some topics are just too sensitive and can’t be mocked, and it’s difficult at times to tackle any issue with reverence and humor at the same time. In the end, you have to ask whether you are helping or hurting the topic?

Jerry gets a call for an interview with a journalist, and the journalist somehow gets the wrong impression that Jerry and George are a couple. While insisting the entire time that there’s nothing wrong with two men dating, Jerry is still very adamant that she knows he’s straight. It’s one of those comedic relics we can recognize from the 90s. Throughout the episode, they repeatedly emphasize, “Not that there’s anything wrong with that.”
