McDonald’s is not the only fast-food chain to see a decline in sales with its millennial clientele. Almost all fast-food chains are feeling the hardship with the generation being much more interested in healthier options. And the Gen Z population — those born between 1997 and 2012 — is beginning to follow millennials’ lead.

These chains are trying to save themselves by adding healthier options and more information about their product to their consumers. Like McDonald’s, Burger King has also added vegetarian burgers to its menu. BRGR promotes their use of omega-3 fatty acids and their grass-fed cows, while Shake Shack prides itself on their source of antibiotic and hormone-free cows from ranches and farms.
