These extremely loud, bulky bikes — although they may look cool — have lost their appeal to consumers and their sales have dropped in the last few years. And it’s not getting any better with millennials, who they should be targeting as new customers, having absolutely no interest in this form of transportation anymore.

The reasons millennials have turned away from motorcycles is because of the cost and the upkeep. Motorcycles are very expensive. Brands like Harley Davidson have produced less expensive bikes to attract new clients, but it hasn’t worked since the maintenance of owning a motorcycle is just as expensive as the vehicle itself. With so much affordable and fast public transportation today, what’s the point?
