Voicemail
Another ancient form of technology that text message has taken over is voicemail. If a friend misses your call, you’re likely going to send them a text message rather than leave a voice message. Lots of millennials actually record their voicemail saying, “please text me”, or don’t bother recording one at all. And to make matters even easier, millennials are using voice recording via text more frequently.

Doctors and private institutions are always going to leave you a voicemail. That’s pretty much guaranteed, but many companies have started to follow up with a text message. Some millennials will still leave a voicemail for very close friends or family members, but 11% of millennials still find text messaging more suitable when it comes to their inner circle.
