Pagers and Beepers
Before mobile phones and texting, it was difficult for your inner circle to reach you if you did not own a pager, also known as beepers, which were extremely popular in the 1980s. Therefore, many millennials don’t even have experience with them. Pagers were invented in 1921 for police departments and are still used in hospitals today. Other than that, they are completely obsolete.

Pagers became a device of the past in the 21st century when everyone traded in their beepers for cell phones and smartphones. A beeper could only let you know that someone wants to contact you. It would never be enough for millennials who grew up in a world with easy access to messages due to technology. Texting is a way more convenient tool of communication that everyone uses at work and in their personal life.
