Where the Term Blonde Bombshell Comes From
Who remembers Robyn Hilton? You might know her from Playboy or the 1974 film Blazing Saddles, but her beginnings were actually quite humble. Hilton actually began her career as a weather girl in her hometown of Twin Falls, Idaho. So how did this small-town girl get to be crowned the first blonde bombshell?
Many believe that the term originated when she appeared on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. So many people were captivated by her beautiful looks that they started referring to Hilton as a “blonde bombshell.” Today, the phrase is still used to describe beautiful, blonde women — so hats off to you, Hilton!
