The Wonderful Natalie Wood
Not many successfully make the transition from a child star to a professional actor during their adulthood. The industry is a tough place for children and it can be really difficult for audiences to accept them as mature if they were fans of the star in question as a child. One iconic actress to make the transition successfully? Natalie Wood.
In 1961, Wood starred as Maria in the film adaptation of West Side Story, and the movie would go on to be a blockbuster and an icon. At the time of this photo, Wood would have already earned three Academy Award nominations before the age of 26. Ths would remain a record the actress would hold for 50 years until Jennifer Lawrence would take her place in 2014.
