Jean-Luc Godard
One of the fathers of the French New Wave Cinema, Jean-Luc Godard is truly one of the biggest names in film. He practically invented his own form of the medium and made a huge impact on it since he first started making movies back in the 50s. His last film would be in 2018, now that’s a long career.
He was never shy to experiment and have fun with the film medium, always open to new ideas and playing around with everything. His fresh take on cinema really helped push things forward and open the doors to other directors who often copied many ideas and things from his own work.
