In case you didn’t know, there’s quite a lot of planning that goes into making a film, from the script to casting. However, even an overinflated budget can’t guarantee that things will go just as the director and scriptwriters wanted. Just like in life, we can make plans all we want, but sometimes the universe has other things in store for us. But sometimes, mistakes, bloopers, ad-libs, and improvisations can be so good that they can make a particular scene stand out. Just like sometimes, when we think our plans are ruined, the universe has something better in store for us. Here are awesome “mistakes” that ended up making the films better, and will forever go down in history as some of the best film moments.

The flying flag in The Two Towers
Let’s kick things off with a fan-favorite blooper. If you watched The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, you might have noticed that the flag during the Fall of Rohan scene. While super-dramatic, it was a complete accident. And how could it not be? Nobody has full-control over the wind when recording outdoors.

Eowyn, played by Miranda Otto, stayed in character while staring off into the distance. The flying flag really tied the scene together, hinting that Rohan was truly on the verge of destruction. Hats off to the director, Peter Jackson, for not calling “cut.” Don’t worry, we’ll get to the infamous scene in The Two Towers later on. You know the one we’re talking about.
