The lucky crew member in It’s a Wonderful Life
It’s a Wonderful Life didn’t do so hot at the box office, only bringing in about $3.3 million while recording a $525,000 loss. However, the movie has aged incredibly well, and it is now considered to be one of the best releases in 1947. There are several iconic moments throughout the film, but there’s one that really stands out to hardcore film fans.
If you remember, there was a scene where Uncle Billy (Thomas Mitchell) leaves the Bailey home. Upon exiting the frame, we can hear him yelping, “I’m alright! I’m alright!” Turns out that a crew member dropped several large props right in front of the quick-thinking actor who used this moment to improvise that infamous scream. Rumors say that the crew member even got a bonus for his small, on-the-spot contribution.
