The kitty in The Godfather
The Godfather franchise will go down in history as not just the best mafia movies of all time, but also as the franchise that shaped how the public viewed the Italian mafia in the US. There are countless scenes in the first installment, you might recall Don Vito Corleone delivering a brutal set of instruction while playing with a cute cat. The bad guy always has a cat in his lap, right?
It turns out that the cat, who we’ll call Mr. Whiskers from now on, didn’t audition for the role. In fact, Mr. Whiskers just appeared on screen, jumped on Marlon Brando’s lap, and stayed there until the cameras stopped rolling. It’s a good thing Marlon didn’t have an aversion to felines.
