Corn, Corn Everywhere
The 2014 science fiction movie Interstellar shows a world where the only crop that can be grown is corn. This meant they had to show large fields of corn with mountains in the background, as specified in the script. Christopher Nolan had two choices – he could either use CGI or grow real corn.
Considering Nolan is always willing to go that extra mile, he chose the latter. It was a $100K gamble to try and grow corn outside Calgary, Canada but it worked! In fact, after they wrapped up shooting, they ended up selling the field for profit. That’s what you call a win-win.
