Castle Mont Rouge in North Carolina
The Castle Mont Rouge in North Carolina is as castle-like as it gets. It has several spires, although we’re not sure if any archers fired anything from the tiny openings on the sides. This structure was constructed in 2000, so there wasn’t a moat, to begin with.
Vandals have left their mark on the structure, leaving ugly graffiti tags and damaged furniture. Efforts to restore the design are currently underway, and the castle is expected to open to the public in 2018. It’d be fantastic if we could visit an actual castle!
