Despite her unafraid and outspoken nature today, J-Lo had even more chutzpah when she was an up-and-coming actress. Any J-Lo fan remembers the 1997 biopic Selena, so it irked Lopez that Salma Hayek said she was offered the part first.
J-Lo called Hayek’s statement a “total fabrication,” claiming it was made to “gain publicity.” She then went on to say that she had been offered the role in Fools Rush In, which Hayek eventually took, but she rejected it because the script was not strong enough.
