Lopez’s official Instagram account liked a comment labeling it an “accident you couldn’t take your eyes off of” after Carey’s 2017 New Year’s Eve performance went wrong.
Mariah Carey’s 2018 autobiography, meanwhile, included a final not-so-veiled insult. She claimed that her ex-husband, music producer Tommy Mottola, gave her a sample for one of her songs and “another female entertainer (whom I don’t know).”
