Credit where credit’s due
The growing popularity of the sport has resulted in lists being created on sites like Google. These include ‘The Hottest Female Pole Vaulters at Rio 2016,’ which highlighted the publication’s selections for the sexiest athletes at the previous Olympics.
This time, though, the comments toward the women were not as demeaning as they were on Stokke’s picture in 2007. It called them “fearless” and praised them for excelling in a male-dominated sport that used to be dominated by men.
