Black holes have a speed limit in space
It’s mind-blowing to think that something as powerful as a black hole is limited by speed, much like driving a car. But just like everything else in this world, there are laws that must be followed. Black holes follow a celestial law set by the universe.
A black hole’s rotational speed quickens to make sure the initial momentum is kept–but there are restrictions to how fast it can rotate. A horizon that’s small will rotate faster than a bigger one. Based on records, our galaxy’s biggest stellar black hole turns 1,150 times per second. There are other black holes that have been noted to spin at 84% of the speed of light.
