Khoudia Diop
Khoudia Diop is also known by her stage name Melanin Goddess. After joining the modeling world, Diop chose this name as a type of self-identification and praise for her dark skin tone (melanin is the missing pigment that accounts for her dark complexion).
She was tormented through her childhood for being unique, having an extremely dark complexion caused by an excess of melanin. Still, she moved to Paris at 15 and immediately found numerous modeling agents. She was approached and encouraged by many people on the street, and after a year in Paris, Diop has now relocated to New York to begin her modeling career.
