Given that the United States is made up of people from all around the world, it’s only natural that many different languages are spoken across the 50 states. While Spanish and English are the most widespread tongues, other languages are heard.

There have been many different migratory waves in American history. During specific periods, a lot of the migration came from European nations, contributing to the numerous European languages spoken in the United States today.
