Historical events and representation will be fascinating a century from now. There will be so many first-hand accounts about what occurred in the first three decades of the 2000s that history books will become irrelevant so long as the internet continues to rage.
On a side note, who is responsible for which “g” pronunciation? Is it merely cultural? Giraffes would sound fantastic no matter how you say it, and I’m still confused about GIFs. Why can’t we all agree that G is responsible for one sound and J for the other? That would make English a lot easier to master. Cardigan, huge, goose, judge, giggly… It’s no wonder that people find our language difficult to learn! Even I have a tough time comprehending the logic behind it.
