Unnecessary Comparisons
Weddings are a sensitive topic, and I completely understand why. Families are coming together on both sides to bind the pair as family dynamics shift. While it’s generally a happy occasion, it comes with its own set of emotions and conflicting feelings. The transition is difficult for mothers because they must relinquish their children.
Some mothers-in-law hold back their true feelings about their child’s future spouse until the day of the wedding. If you ask us, this is the worst possible moment. One mother-in-law made a passive-aggressive remark, comparing her daughter-in-law to herself. It’s all about the bride on that day; she should have been boosting people rather than lowering them.
