A well-hidden weapon
Although we are familiar with some facts about elephants, there are many other things about them that we don’t know. For example, did you know that they’re actually quite intelligent animals? They also love spending time with their family and sticking together in a pack. And contrary to popular belief, they’re not predators – in fact, they only eat plants! We often take for granted the aspects of nature that we see every day without giving them a second thought.
The elephant’s tail is actually a powerful weapon, though this appendage often goes unnoticed because of the animal’s large legs, ears, and trunk. The wires you see are actually very thick hairs covering the skin. Perhaps elephants use their tails to defend themselves or scare off bugs with all that hair.
