A newspaper straight from the Greatest Generation
Allow us to fill in the blanks by stating what this is. The Huntington Advertiser was a newspaper published in Huntington, West Virginia, from 1885 until 1979. This particular issue of the paper, dating from December 11, 1943, was discovered in an abandoned home’s attic.
It’s probably not worth much as a collector’s item (despite its excellent condition); it’s just an interesting time capsule from a defining moment in American and world history. Can you imagine waking up to read your newspaper and seeing the headline that our country has just joined the most deadly war in history?
