Uncontacted tribes face gradual encroachment
This tribe, photographed from the sky for the first time, was discovered in an area of the Brazilian Amazon. It appears as though illegal gold miners have invaded their land. Because they live cut off from society, it’s safe to say that they lead a peaceful life free of outside interference.
There are approximately 20,000 people in this secluded community. However, their way of life is under threat. Their territory has been protected since 1992, but it is now on the verge of being encroached upon by gold miners. This could force the tribe to move elsewhere and may eventually lead to its extinction.
