A new study confirms the effectiveness of antidepressants
Depression is unfortunately common, which has made the use of antidepressants very commonplace. Their widespread usage leads many people to doubt their effectiveness. Some believe the benefits gained after taking antidepressants are just in people’s heads. This study proves that belief wrong.
The United Kingdom recently completed a study revealing that antidepressants are highly effective for those suffering from depression. After eight weeks, it was found that participants who took antidepressants had lower symptoms of depression than those who took placebos. In addition, some antidepressants were more effective and faster-acting than others. It’s worth noting that the study did not include patients using antidepressants for other disorders like OCD.
