Unspoken Rules
Oh, the armrest problem. According to the man with a sign, the central seat should receive the armrest every time. Consider it for a moment. We all have our favorite seats, some people like the window, and others prefer the aisle, but I believe we can all agree that you’re in the worst place possible when you’re on a flight and stuck in the middle seat.
Because the person behind the window can look out without difficulty and their armrest on the side by the aircraft wall, they have an advantage. The individual seated next to the aisle does not have to be sandwiched between two people and gains access to another armrest and a simple bathroom exit. As a result, it’s only fitting that the center seat should get an armrest!
