Lack of Motion
Though it may sound counterintuitive, a submarine will often remain calm even if there is a storm raging above. The reason for this peace is that submarines usually travel dozens (or sometimes hundreds) of meters below the surface of the water.
The submarine glides through the water in nearly complete silence, except for a few minor bumps every now and again. The only noises on board are those of people and machinery.
