Drills Drills Drills
The not-so-exciting part of a submarine voyage includes running drills again and again. Of the three most important types of drills – fires, flooding, and reactor – an additional kind prepares the crew for battle scenarios.
Even when the submarine is docked, crew members must practice. This is to keep the ship prepared for all possibilities. A different sort of drill is a “hot run” torpedo scenario. It’s a situation in which a torpedo on the sub goes off by accident.
