Nowadays, companies will make all sorts of efforts to come across as relatable. Even though that’s usually not well perceived by consumers, they still think it’s a good marketing strategy. Doordash took things a step further and thought it was a good idea to joke about how no one can afford proper housing anymore.
Remember a few years ago when people used to go crazy with those YouTube videos about tiny apartments in Japan? Well, how the tables have turned. Nowadays, NYC’s smallest apartment is 55 square feet and costs $1,400 per month. So yeah, in this case, their oven is probably also their shoe closet, but that’s not a thing to joke about, Doordash.
