This observation is pretty subtle, and you may not have noticed it in your own life until reading this. Over the years, people have started putting fewer and fewer family portraits in their homes. Gone are the days of framed family portraits from JC Penny’s hanging over the fireplace. Instead, people just keep photos on their phones. 

We don’t think this is because people no longer care about their families. People probably have fewer portraits hanging on their walls because most of us no longer print photos. If anything, printing photos has become kind of a hassle and costs a decent amount of money. Maybe we need to bring print photos back into fashion. It’s always nice to see family photos hanging up in someone’s house.
